Get both of them and you will double your performance. Just kidding.....
Actually what is you definition of performance? These hand held tuners will leave you lighter in the pocket and no performance gains. If it's more HP, then start bolting on headers, heads, cam, etc. You already have about 300 rwhp to start with.

Yeh, define your performance goals.

Better handling?

Better acceleration?

Both?

Lots of answers here. Do a bit of reading and post up more particulars about your goals and you will get a ton of opinions.

HOLY CRAP! If it were that easy,,,wouldn't you think that ALL of us would have a Hypertech max energy or predator hand held tuner??????? It is NOT that simple!

Those Hypertech max energy or predator hand held tuners have CANNED TUNES and change a LIMITED number of PCM values. The tunes change known PCM values that "HELP" performance on most LS engines. Theres NO magic box that will make you gain 50 HP! It may give you 10- 12 HP or it may take away 10 hp. You wont know for sure. It all depends on the state of your current tune.

Do you have a manual C5 or an A4??? If you have a manual, those hand held tuners don't do much. If you have an A4, they make good adjustments to the transmission that help performance some.

HP cost money!! If you want something thats going to actually make a REAL difference in HP/TQ,,, Your going to need headers, cold air intake, LS6 intake manifold and a professional tune using one of the premium tuning software packages like EFI Live or HP Tuners (Approx $750 in software alone)

I purchased a Predator once and when I read the manual on what it would do for my 02 ZO6, I took it back to the store!!!!! I spent the extra cash for EFI Live commercial.

Use the money you were planning on spending for the handheld tuner to go towards a set of headers, CAI, and a dyno tune. These mods will increase hp/tq and the first two offer a good foundation to build on if you choose to go further. You need to decide what your goals are for the car, and how much you are willing to spend to achieve them. Once you make these decisions the members here can help guide you in the right direction
