The EBTCM/BPMV should always be clean and dry. Recommend wiping it down and cleaning it to help pin point the issue. What color is the fluid that is leaking??

Once its clean and dry, have some one pump the brakes while you carefully inspect it and look for the leak source. The EBTCM side of the module is or should be DRY!!!! It contains ZERO fluid. The BPMV side is full of brake fluid. Concentrate on that side of the module.

Hey bud

Its definatly brake fluid by the taste It has that zing to it

My car is as clean as a whistle and its still very hard to pinpoint. Once the fans turn on it will move it around a bit. All the lines are snug and look fine. To me it looks like it is comming from underneith the unit somehow.

This weekend I will look at it further...there seems to be no issues with braking and I have a feeling this has been going on for over a year now. As I though it was the Power steering rack leaking prior to noticing this and tasting the fluid.

thanks for the help

The BPMV out of the car looks like this: (This is a 2001 - 2004 EBTCM)

This is the bottom of the unit. Its important to remove all of the fluid on the unit and inspect this area:

You can look for leaks with the car off. Just clean the unit and have some press the brake firmly and hold pressure on it while you check for leaks.

thanks Bill for the pics I think it is comming from the bottom of the unit. I have had the unit out numerous times and am wondering with all the re and re's on it if it was damaged a bit which has cause the leak.

thanks again !

Well...my little leak turned into a major one. Gotta get this thing out of the car now and fix it. Hopefully this is something I can do my self and doesn't require hard to get seals or anything like that "crossed finger". Applying any pressure to brakes now pisses fluid out the bottom of the unit. F*&kin GM...20,000 miles and an ABS pump leaks "shakes head"

You made my day.

Never in all my years (too many to count, can’t count that high anyway), have I heard of identifying automotive fluids by TASTE.

I hope you don’t work at a nuclear power plant. I can see your tongue glowing now.
