Default headers questions?

Ok so I just bought a set of headers off of the auction site. They were advertised as Texas Speed, did they ever make their own? They are ceramic coated but scratched up badly, would it be best to paint them with header paint or leave them be. I have a have an 01, what emissions stuff do I need to not have smog issues, there is no EGR tube on the headers, do I need it?

Doesn't sound like you know what you bought there dude. Texas Speed headers are steel, so the if coating is scratched off or deep, they will rust. The fittings you are referring to are AIR, not EGR, and yes you need them if you are not going to delete/turn off the AIR system. If you choose to keep the system intact, you will have to weld on the AIR flanges.

All I know is that I got a great deal on a set of 1.75 inch headers. I figured they would need some TLC to make them work well for me. Where can I get an AIR tube to have welded on? Is it advisable to paint them with header paint over the coating on it?

While you may want to, you dont have to have the AIR system on your car. You can have the system tuned out. Just pull all the AIR crap out and take the car to your favorite tuner.
