chrome wheels 2001 pitting
my car has 7k on it and the wheels are starting to pit. the car never saw snow always garaged fl. car. did they ever have a recall on them. is their a fix. HIGH POISHED WHEELS. thanks

No Wheel Recalls. Are they chrome or high polish wheels? The high polish wheels are just clear coated. GM never sold chrome wheels for C5s although some dealers would provide chrome wheels. Some of the chrome wheels were factory wheels that were sent out to be chromed and others were repro's.

I've heard of that on a few sets of those wheels. If you want to upgrade to some repros contact me. We also have the thin spokes in a few finished if you want to stay close to stock.

Maybe you can polish them out, if the wheels aren’t chromed.

I have NEVER had good luck with chrome on wheels. I purchased chrome C5 ZO6 style wheels for 02 ZO6 from a very repruable corvette parts provider and sponsor here on the forum.
6 months after the purchase 3 of the wheels they started to pit and corrode on the inside of the wheel.
I called the company and they wanted to inspect them. NO PROBLEM. When they saw the one that didnt pit and corrode compared to the rest, they refunded ALL of my money. Of course, I purchased a complete set of CCW 505As from them.
Im EXTREMELY happy with my 505As and very happy I got rid of the chrome wheels
I drive my car a LOT and in some adverse weather conditions. Unless you just show your car or clean the wheels religiously after you use them, get painted or polished aluminum wheels.
