Everybody likes the look, including me...but the reception is absolutely horrible. Has anybody tried to use a windsheild mounted amplified (powered) antenna?? I've seen some of these for sale and they are pretty reasonable, but do they work well? I drove an 09 C6Z, this is what GM did for the antenna on that car...it's right above the rear view mirror. It's either give this a shot, or go back to the stupid stock antenna.
I cut the stock one off at 8 " , twisted the ball off the end, ground the end of the shortened ant & used a bit of J B weld to attach the ball & touched up with black paint. & noticed no diff. in reception. Looks good. Been like this for 5 years now.

My 2000 coupe has the windshield antenna. It works great. If I use my GPS that has a FM transmitter built in for commands and MP3 playback it works great in the Vett, not so good with any other vehicle that has a normal outside antenna. Might be worth a try on the antenna you mentioned.
Most dont work because their justa shortened piece of aluminium..and that changes your reception....
Check Your PM's and check my sig
Night and day difference over my stubby aluminum antenna with BitViper's shorty antenna. Looks like it came from manufacturer, and it works as well as the stock antenna. Anybody that wants a good looking shorty antenna that won't sacrafice reception, hit up BitViper with a PM.
Cut your stock one off... and as for reception I took my friends antenna as a joke. We told him we dedicated a song for him on a not so local station so he would notice his antenna being gone... and it picked up perfect.
