Because of the temperature, use the special grease. You can get it in small, cheap packets at an auto store. Use it on "slider" pins/bolts and the back of the pads. Use on the back of the pads stops squeling.

Brake Caliper Synthetic Grease
Comes in a 2.5 oz black/white tube. Part no. SL3301 Has the "big 3" also (moly, graphite and Teflon) along with a synthetic grease. Most any AP store carries it. Not expensive either.

Permatex® Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant? This 100% synthetic lubricant contains real ceramic solids for extreme performance under the most critical braking conditions. A purple, environmentally friendly, non-melting formula, this premium lubricant is our longest lasting, most temperature resistant way to silence brake noise such as squealing and chattering; also effective in preventing long bolt and sleeve seizing and galling. Excellent on rolling and sliding surfaces operating in wet or dry conditions from -65°F to 2800°F (-54°C to 1538°C). This product assures that critical brake parts remain lubricated throughout brake pad life. Resistant to corrosion and contaminants, it will not wash out. It is compatible with internal/external brake rubber and plastic hardware, including ethylene-propylene rubber Suggested Applications: Disc brake caliper hardware, bushings, slides, pistons, rubber sleeves and seals

do i apply the grease just where the pistons make contact on the pad? or the whole pad?
when i bought my HPS pads it came with a small pack of grease. i only put a small amount where the pistons come in contact with the pad cause i was afraid it will run off to the disc or the braking surface of the pad.
You do not apply the grease to the back of the pads - that is where you put the anti-squeal compound if provided.
You use the grease on the sliders - the bolts that have the rubber boot on them to contain the grease and protect the sliding surfaces from moisture and corrosion.
I use this from NAPA for all slides, pins,as well as the tips of the pad backing where they slide into the caliper bracket on the brakes. Also works great on all rubber products, bushings, etc.
you do not grease the back of the pad
you apply to the sliders and pins only
The SPECIAL grease is for the sliding pins and rubber boots and will not gum up or become hard from heat. I have see the WRONG grease used and caused the caliper to lock up on the slide pins. I do so much brake work that I purchased the LARGE container.
Putting grease on the back of the pads does nothing for noise. If your worried about noise, permatex makes a very good product that you spray on the back of the pad. It tacks up and puts a very thin barrier between the pad and the caliper and pistons. It works very well
