Power Window Switch Failure
Seems like a switch problem, but has anybody run into this before and if so, what was the cause and the fix?
Just hate to get caught in the rain someday w/ the windows down!
You could always buy a used switch and see if that fixes the problem. They are pretty expensive at full price for a new switch, but I have seen some sell for $20 or less at auction sites.
If just the window is not working, then most likely it is not a switch problem.
It is common for window motors to just stick, and start working again.
I recommend you try bumping the window down 1/16 inch or so to unload the motor and drive mechanism, then see if the problem happens again.
The good news is most of the time they stick in the up position, and if you get them to work, they will usually go back up, unless there is obviously something wrong with the drive cables or gears.
Did your window quit working in the up position or down?

Can you hear the relay clicking when you work the switch?
Below are a couple of links to possible solutions. You will have to search for others.

Just tried it again and now it's working normally. Will yank door panels off and lub tracks, etc.
Been working for 10 years. Guess we all need lubing once in a while, hey?
Thanks for all the info!
