Default clutch or blew my rear diff. ???

i was driving yersterday and was way at a light. I took off a little hard and right then i heard a weird noise from the rear the back of the car. The engine was started and sounded fine by the car was not moving. I had it engaged into gear and the rpms were going up but the car was just not moving at all. What could be my problem. Its a 98 with fact. clutch and ive also got 390 gears with just bolt ons. What are the things that could be wrong??? im really stressing out..

Sounds like the differential output shaft, likely driver's side.

Could be torque tube coupler. What ever it is, it more than likely be alot of work to get to the broken part.

Most likely the differential BUT,,,,,,,you wont know until you tear it down and start the inspection process. I would start with the diff out put shafts. Its a common problem and can have those symptoms.

Better stock your wallet up with cash cause drivetrain repairs are NOT cheep.

Yes you can. Start it up, take your trac control off put it in gear, try to drive it. If you speddometer runs, its your output shaft, if not then its clutch,t.tube or trans releated.

I have a very strong feeling its the Diff.........clutch wouldn't just go out like that and never come back you should at least be able to move a bit . Why would a Torque Tube go out with just Bolt ons , when the diff on Vettes are notorious for breaking

Good advice.
I had a similar thing happen when I broke the hub out of the clutch disk.
