I'm about to put 3:90s in my 01 C5. I have an A4 and run 28X10 Hoosiers @ the track. I'm hoping it'll be a good improvement over my 3:15 gears that are in the car now. I run N20, and shift @ 7200.

be careful! I just had a brand new RPM 3.73 diff put in my car. In less than 400 miles, it died! RPM says they got a bad batch of ring and pinion gears from their supplier. Ask your supplier about this! I am going to have to have mine pulled out, and replaced with a 3.42, becasue RPM says they are recalling ALL 3.73s!

Did they recommend a break in period for the diff? Ususaly when you replace gears, you're supposed to heat cycle them.

Yes, the shop that installed them did two heat cycles per RPMs reccomendation. After that, I was told to take it easy for 500 miles. I never got over 3000 RPM, and never pushed it.
