I haven't done any changes to my wiper mechanism, it worked couple of months ago but after long time not driving the car wipers are parking pointing straight upwards.
I removed the plastic cover in front of the windshield to see mechanism. Motor rotates CW normally when wipers are on. Wipers park in right place (or a bit higher than that) but right after that the motor turns 180 degrees CCW, so wipers park again but in wrong place.
What could cause this? I removed the wiper motor cover to see if there is something inside that's misplaced but everything seemed fixed.
Mechanism which parks blades while rotating the motor CCW was missing one little spring. I made there a replacement spring and now all positions can be found again. Cheap fix but not very easy..
Good to hear that you found a fix. I wonder what happened to that spring. I've never had to get into the wiper motor or the wiper transmission on a C5.
I'm having the same problems. When I turn them off they cycle once then "park" in the vertical position. Havn't had time to check it out as this was the first place I thought of to find help.
Yep, I've spent the last two days researching this and I've torn into the area and found no evidence of water. I took the motor off and bench-tested and all seems fine except....when I turn the switch to off, the wipers cycle once and do a reverse about half way then stop. This leaves the wipers in the 1:00 position. I took the motor apart and then took the board off and saw nothing wrong but it still did the same thing. I'm think there is a switch within the housing that isn't positioned right but I couldnt see it when I took it apart....I'll look again tonight and take some pics....
There is a spring that goes completely around the "cam" but thats the only one I see. I bought a new motor and installed it and it did the same thing so I'm pretty sure its not the motor. I took the board out and there are two contacts inside and I messed with them, just to see if they were burnt but they were fine. I reinstalled the old motor and now they park...but....now when I go to intermittent, instead of "parking" in the lowered position inbetween cycles, they stay at the one oclock position but at least when I turn them off, they go to the stowed and park position. This is really starting to **** me off, lol.
