I'm going to lower my C5Z all they way down on the stock bolts just to give it a cleaner look by getting rid of some of the wheel well gap. Currently, it sits just as it did from the factory. I've read that the C5's should have around a 1/2" to 3/4" of rake from front to back, but where should that measurement be taken from??
Measuring my car, if I measure from the center of the hub to the lip of the wheel well, the front measures about 3/8" less than the rear. If I measure from the ground to the jacking points on the frame, the measurements are identical front to back.
Front to back, I like the way the car sits right now; I just wish it were about an inch lower all the way around.
Thaks for the info guys! Based on that, it sounds as if my car sits a bit low in the back...assuming the best reference point for taking measurements is at the jacking points on the frame. If so, mine sits even front-to-back at 5.25" based on those reference points.
I had exactly same question...Answer - raise rear to obtain 5 mm more height at the rear jacking points than the fronts. That gives correct rake whatever height the front is sitting. With no driver you may want to set front and rear driver's side 1/8 to 1/32 high to compensate for absence of driver's weight as compared to pass. side. Make sense ?
