Thought I was getting a C6 Z06 shifter, but this looks like an aftermarket shifter that fits the C6 ****. There are no markings that would help to identify it. It is spring-assisted and has adjustable shift stops. Anyone know what it is?
Yep,,,if you took that metal ring off of it,,,it would be a KIRBAN. I love my KIRBAN! The centering springs inside the KIRBAN shifter make shifting from 3rd to 4th during a run thru the gears a lot safer.
Theres less chance to grab 2nd gear when trying to shift into 4th. The engine does NOT like 3rd @ 6000 rpm to 2nd shifts!!
Give that shifter a try!! You will like it. I dont know what that metal ring is but it looks like it can easly be removed if necessary.

Offhand, I'd say you got a good deal with the KIRBAN vs the C6/Z06 shifter. The **** is what most people like the most about the latter, anyway. The bolt on lever is a nice convenience. You can modify that lever by threading it for 9/16-18" if you want to use an after market ****. You can make adjustments with the bias springs to make that shifter as firm as you want it. If you want to lower the ****, you could machine the lever down and drill/tap another mounting point for the fastener.
When I was researching shifters for my car, it was a toss up between the KIRBAN and the B&M "Sport". I chose the latter only because I wanted the rubber isolation for noise/vibration suppression within the cabin.
