I'm guessing some kind of electric lift regulator for a hood or deck lid.

Looks too heavy duty for window lift I would go with convertible top motor assy.

It has all kinds of numbers stamped on it. None of them come back as GM part numbers I can find.

Looks like it has very limited motion, so I say maybe a trunk pulldown motor.

It is the Flux capacitor and requires 1.21 jiggawatts to operate. Or...it could be a motor assembly for a step lowering setup for a full size truck. Looks heavy duty enough to hold an obese American.

I've seen a power sliding door actutator for a van that looked very much like it, that is my best guess.

The limited range of motion and gear reduction design seems like it's meant for moving something heavy. I would say either convertible top motor or retractable hardtop/roof motor. Maybe a power tailgate/lift gate actuator. The trunk pulldown motors I have seen are usually of an in-line screw actuator design and don't rely on a "swing" arm actuator.

Looks pricey, regardless.
