Really busy day today with lots of stuff do, hopefully someone can lend a hand....I just got the Autotap from Exit28 (Great guys and speedy delivery :D) and want to do a couple of passes today for info gathering. I hooked up the MAF Translator and everything seems ok.
I'll be dowloading the DOS version of the software later today and also reviewing the manual.....My questions are these:
what is the basic gist of hooking the laptop, atap, etc to the car?
what needs to powered on 1st, running, car....etc?
how do you initate monitoring or is it automatic upon startup?
Re: ATAP Users....Help a Buddy Out! (Mean Green 2000)
I am in the process of doing the same. I ran across a post that pointed to another post on the corvetteforum which contained an excellent document on the Whys and Howtos. Now I cannot fid the URL. The title is:
"LTFT / O2 Analysis & Tuning Guide" and it contains a .cfg file and an Excel spreadsheet for your data. If you can't find it, I can email it to you. It looks very promising. I will be gathering data this weekend by loading the .CFG file and doing some "Spirited" driving. The setup will then allow me to load the data into the spreadsheet.
Again, it looks promising. nospam and I believe Kewbrz have had some very excellent posts on this as well. :)
chuckster sent me 2 files but I haven't time to look at them yet...is that a cfg file for the computer or a cfg file for autotap....this is a work laptop, and can't screw with the configuration too much ;)
I just took my 1st run and logged some paramaters....not too sure what exactly to monitor, that's my next question :D
Re: ATAP Users....Help a Buddy Out! (Mean Green 2000)
Glad to hear you figured out where to put that cfg. SOrry I thought you ran Autotap before...
Also the windows version gave me different readings. I stayed with dos.
Easier and boots faster
Just make a bootable dos floppy that has an autoexec.bat that runs the autotap on the c: drive.
Then when you exit tap I have the system automatically copy the log to the floppy
thanks for the help Chuckster.....never ran it before yesterday, but I'm a quick learner.....have to be, that's how I pay bills :D
I made 2 runs yesterday and will be monitoring on the way to the dyno this morning, pretty easy using the dos versiom, just had to get used to working in that environment again :D
Re: ATAP Users....Help a Buddy Out! (Mean Green 2000)
piece o cake. Just open it as comma delimited data!
I recently borrowed an autotap from a friend (thanks steve) and am building a "dashboard" in LabView for playing back the data files. I'll have 270 degree sweep gauges (some with multiple pointers), 180 deg sweep gauges, lots of bar type gauges, and a few chart type displays. All gauges will also have a numerical display.
If I can find someone with a copy of the appication builder software, I'll post the .vi when done.

I would appreciate getting some config.files e-mailed to me also. Have tried a couple of others and they would not work, (wrong version), thanks, Tom :p:
