I was wondering who has a radar detector that is hard wired. I need to find where you use the power and ground source from? I am mounting my radar detector above my rear view mirror and I wanted to tap into the lights in the mirror.....Who has done this, how difficult is this to do, and info please...Thanks....Cliff

if you look in the manual you can run a the ground and hot into the passenger footwell and there is an accessory plug there for this set-up that is what most do.

Take the passenger foot pannel off and in the top left corner is a bung.
It should have a connector with open ended wires with tape on them.
PS. fishing the wire through the A-pillar is a bit tricky when you transition to
the lower part but it shouldn't be too hard. I just stuffed mine in and then fished
it down. Gotta use a little force to open it up enough to fish it out but
it will go back easy enough.
Hope this helps.

I purchased a used '98. The person who owned the car before me installed the radar detector in the well with the fog light. He installed the indicator lights where the controls for the HUD would have been installed but this car does not have HUD. He installed small stereo speakers behind the seat. The on/off switch is installed in the center console. No one knows that you have it but it works great. :D
