Question regarding flywheel bolts!!
Hey Guys I am doing a clutch swap and will be upgrading from a factory C5 Z06 clutch to a Textralia OZ700. The question I have is if I can reuse the factory flywheel bolts. I have ARP bolts in the pressure plate, but is there a reason why I should use ARP bolts in the flywheel. I guess is there a scientific answer why I should use ARP bolts for the flywheel over stock flywheel bolts. I will be using blue loctite on either one I decide to use. I mean if there is a good reason to use the ARP over the stock then I will get them, but if the stock will do just fine, then I can use the extra funds elsewhere. Thanks in advance!

I'll admit I reused mine. There was a recent argument over this. To satisfy those wanting to kill me over reusing the bolts I will say the stock factory bolts are cheap if you want to replace them. ARP is over priced in my opinion, although I did buy the ARP pressure plate bolts.
Old school, we would reuse even head bolts not to mention flywheel bolts.
New school, replace the bolts. Cost versus risk, it's a good idea. The theory behind this, each time you torque a bolt it is stretched. This elasticity point is what is referred to as yield. At this point the bolt works like a spring holding the two surfaces together. If you can think of a rubber band and if you repeatedly stretch it, its holding force will be reduced with each stretch and it can get to the point where it can break. A bolt works in a like way.
Maybe a better way to look at this, the cost of the bolts is a small factor in the total cost of the replacement. That said, I personally would replace them. I would also use new GM stock bolts.
