Default Leaking differential

I have a 2001 with a leaking differential and want to know if the seals that you get from dealer are improved ones or the same ones that are in it? Thanks for any info.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question, Tom, but it is an interesting question. The left side of my 2000's diff is leaking, so I would like to know as well. Do you plan to replace both sides, and have you considered replacing the clutch at the same time?

Be sure and check the small housing the seal fits into before you button it back up. I had a left side diff leak, took it to the stealership to be fixed(warranty) and they found a small casting hole in the aluminum plate that holds the seal. They said they had found one or two before mine with the same problem.
