We're at the point of cutting the shrowd since the cones are high so I wanted a pic of exactly where uou cut. I assume you just cut under the cones. Right?
Thanks

It's pretty easy to do. Just take out the old and insert the new. Clamp everything down and you're good to go. No need to cut anything. I had one, but replaced it with a Vararam.

It's too high so the pins coming up from the stock housing doesn't reach the holes in the SLP system. Somewhere I read about cutting the shrowd so the cones sit lower.
I appreciate your help.

Ok SLP huh? I don't know about that one. Maybe post a picture or two so we can see what the deal is.

I don't see why not if you're willing to. Try to find instructions online or contact the manufacturer.

If you cut the shroud you will decrease airflow to your radiator and let in a lot more dirt to the engine compartment.

Default Twin cone intake...

I might be way off here, but, as I see it, if you have to cut anything, something else isn't quite right. I just did this a couple of monthes ago and nothing could have been easier. Just like JW said, you undo all the stock pieces, then put these back in their place. Mine was from that auction site and I ended up paying $30.00 bucks for mine shipped, brand new, so they could have been very badly manufactured and in fact I was expecting it, but, had no fitment problems at all. I can't imagine cutting the radiator shroud, I wouldn't for the reasons given above. Please make sure all is fitted properly and all pushed together, cause that's the only thing I can see that might be your problem.
