Ok guys The million dollar question. I have acquired a 1998 coupe. the prior owner has updated the wagon wheels to the polished thinspokes. I now have a TPM sensor out and I am not sure which one to buy to replace it. So my problem is:
1. Do I buy the sensor for the 98 model and hope that it will fit the thinspoke wheel?
OR
2. Buy the sensor for the thinspoke wheel 01-04 and hope that it programs to the 1998 TPM system?
Someone on here should have some helpful info on this. I bet it doesn't take 10 minutes to get the answer. The right answer.
Either sensor will fit the wheels if they are OEM. I have 98 sensors on my thinspokes. I would go a different way though. You can buy a 01-04 receiver, fob and 4 TPMS's for the same or less than what it will cost for 4 97-00 sensors. Then you have the less expensive fobs and TPMS should you need to replace them in the future.
The 01-04 sensors will not work on your car unless the receiver is upgraded.
