Low oil pressure
My 98 ls1 automatic is shows very low oil pressure.- About 3-4 psi ideling hot, and 20-25 psi at about 3000 rpms is this a common problem with a common fix for these cars. Oil pressure unit has already been replaced along with oil pump. what else could be causing this... car only has 75,000 miles on it I wouldnt think the bearings would be worn would they? I am running 15-40 oil in it now to try and bring it up. I will be putting a mechanical gauge on it tommorow to verify pressure

They did an LSx rebuild on HP TV-they had this problem too. They had the O-ring messed up when the pump went in. They wallowed out how where the bolt held the tube down so not to put strain on the O-ring. The other more painful possibility is a bearing is toast.
