Car getting hot when idling
I have a 2000 Convertible m-6. everything is OK unless the car is sitting for a while when in traffic. Then the temp starts climbing up to around 250 as soon as i start driving it goes back to normal. It has 20,000 miles. Any one have an idea where to start.

are your electric fans comming on? thermostat opening and closing? do you have a bunch of debri stuck on the front of the rad? garbage will collect in front of the rad..you could see it if you crawl underneath the front of the car and look up at the rad... .. is the rad core plugged with dirt/bugs? check the basic stuff 1st....and keep your fingers crossed that it's something simple and obvious...
