The K&N filter shown here is not a perfect fit. It's just rubber and it
doesn't seal real well inside the Vararam.
There have been many people fixing this problem with foam insulation of one type or another.
I am currently trying to fix this problem buy cutting apart the old

Vararam foam filter and re-gluing it to the K&N so there will be foam between the Vararam and the K&N, for better sealing.
I used a glue called E6000.

does the filter that comes with the vararam seal better than the k+n you posted. I know theres probably a filter war here somewhere on this forum but haven't searched yet.

Patches

I ran one of those a while back on my B1. I had to use silicone to seal it around the perimeter of the filter.
