C5 Headlight Bumper/Washer
Ok, I've been reading a lot of threads trying to see if I can find something specific on my problem and I'm finding hints of what I think may be the probelm. I have an '02 and I have replaced the worn gear in my headlight motor and that worked fine. The headlight worked without fail for about two weeks, now all of a sudden the left headlight assembly (which was repaired) will continuously cycle up and down when the headlights are turned on. After about 20 sec the headlight will stop and remain in the down position. It appears that the arm that raises the light has chewed away some of this rubber bumper that the arm is supposed to rest against. I have tried to search for replacement bumpers but am un-sure where to get them, does anyone know? Also is this situation corrected by the washer between the motor & bracket solution? If so, roughly what size washer should I look to install? I have also noticed some looseness in this headlight since those bumpers have been chewed up, is this a separate problem or is it due to the current issue. I am really not sure what to tighten as every nut/bolt that I have inspected is as tight as possible. Please advise.
