Ambient air temp reading went nuts

Ambient air temp reading went nuts

Ambient air temp display is reading -35 degrees. After driving for a while it will start moving to say -15, won't go any further. When you try & run the AC, the light comes on like it would run, then shuts back off. Its about 97 today. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

change the sensor.... If I recall it is less than $20
It is located by the front rail ahead of the front passenger tire

While the sensor is cheap, a corroded connector is just as frequent of an issue with this circuit. I would inspect the connector, and check the ground resistance.

Ended up being the sensor. After a changeout all is back to normal. Also retail @ local dealer was about $12. I sure like low cost repairs, it's the high dollar ones I really worry about. Many thanks again for the info.
