While out cruising today my active handling kick in for no reason. (straight road) It did this several times so I came home and put it in the gargage. Two weeks ago I was cruising and my cruise control would disingage for no reason. The Chev dealer cleaned an air sensor by the air filter. That didn't seem to help.
Has anyone had any of these issues and what was the fix?
If AH activates it will cancel the cruise. Maybe you were having minor AH activations when the cruise was acting up. That would leave no evidence and the dealer mechanic wouldn't have anything to go on.
It sounds like your steering sensor has a problem. It may be just at the point where it will cause a false steering input to the EBCM but not far enough out that it will trigger a fault in the EBCM.
OK I have gotten the codes on the dash. As per the other posters, I don't have that C code. Here is what I saw (lot's of them)
RTD U1016H
40-BCM U1096H
58-SDM U1000H/U1016H/U1096H
60-IPC B0516H/U1016H
80-RADIO U1096H/U1016H
A0-LDCM B2283H/U1255H/U1064H/U1016H/U1096H
A1-RDCM B2285H/U1255H/U1063H/U1016H/U1096H
A6-SCM B2860/U1160H/U1064H
B0-RFA U1000H/U1064H/U1096H/U1016H
Looks like the car won't run. Thanks for your help on this one
I just posted all the codes from the car. Please take a look and let me know your thoughts. I don't have the C codes that the others were talking about. Thanks

That is the list.
RTD U1016H, I didn't find and yet that one might be the important one. Please recheck it
BCM U10961096 Loss of Communications with IPC, means the BCM couldn't talk to the IPC
SDM U1000H/U1016H/U1096H;U1000 Loss of Communication Undetermined, U1016 Loss of Communication with PCM...means Seat Control Module isn't talking either
Radio isn't talking...
LDCM 2283, B2283 Battery #1 Fault. U1255 Serial Data Line Malfunction
RDCM 2285, B2285 Battery #2 Fault, U1255 Serial Data Line Malfunction
Think I got one of those wrong but regardless, you've got comm problems. Look for water in the passenger footwell on or around the BCM. Dry it out. Remember to disconnect the battery first if you remove the BCM. Also, there's a wire in the door's accordian tubes that will short to the frame. You need to look at them. Clear all of the codes and see what returns. The H means a history code and if a C is there, means a current code
When you say "radio isn't talking", just how much talking should there be? I'm serious because I have these same codes at times but things seen to be working okay...
The radio reports its status to the BCM is the talking I'm referring too. The OP has a comm problem. After my previous reply, I got to thinking about one of Bill Curlee's posts about the star connector adjacent to the BCM and wondering if its come lose or whatever...first thought is water in the BCM
The U codes usually do not mean anything. However, with the number of them showing up here and with the battery codes for the doors it looks like there could be a battery (voltage) or ground problem. Make sure the battery terminals are not corroded and that the battery ground connection is in good condition. I agree with the other person that you should also check the wires in the door accordians.
The C codes could have been erased if you had an intermittent voltage supply to the EBCM. Poor battery connections can also cause problems for the EBCM. Everything is dependent on a good solid voltage supply.
WOW Thank for the info. I called the Chev mechanic that works mostly on Corvettes. He suggested that I reset all the codes and then if and/or it happens again, write down the new code.
I will let him see what you guys have said and see what he says. First thing tomorrow I will make sure the battery is not corroded (sp). I agree that having issues with a bad battery causes lots of things to happen.
