Default what level of diff to get

I'd like to add a set of 4.10's or 3.90's to my car. It currently has headers and a cold air intake, but eventualy I'd like to add a head/cam package targeting approximately 420rwhp range.

The car is not a daily driver, mostly cruising and some occaisional drag strip time. Is a level one build sufficient?

I will also be running drag radials on the street after the gear swap.

Sure, if you don't mind swapping it out when you break it. What would keep you from doing the output shafts with the gear change? Don't say money. If money is a concern, this is the wrong hobby, and you should not be making passes at the drag strip.

A level one build from either of the two vendors I was looking at come with a left c6 zo6 ouputshaft. I was just wondering if that was enough. I'm not sure where the weak points are on that diff.

Money is somewhat of a concern, but I do try to put my money where it's needed. My biggest gripe is comparing the price of LS stuff to the last generation of small blocks. Rockers are the best example. What is so different about those things when you compare the old engine with the new? Now look at the price tag, it's over a hundred bucks different.

Get a level 2 from RPM!

Will hold your power level and I think it is around $1695!

I got a Stage IV from DTE. Once you pay the initial cost, the further upgrades are a smaller percentage. I think you should beef it up as much as you can afford since it is one of those items that is difficult to further enhance later.

I'm thinking more towards that direction, just seeing what others have broke first. If nothing else it give you peace of mind you never have to worry about it.
