Default Adapting and L76 Manifold

This may not be feasible at all, but I thought I would ask the question. Is it possible to adapt the L76 manifold to an LS1? It's just the price of a FAST is outrageous in my opinion.

The ports are obviously different, rectangle vs cathedral. Rockers are offset on the L-92 head so the ports may be shifted slightly as well, but are the bolt passages and water passage the same?

Even if it would fit, what would be the advantage?

That manifold goes with the L-92 head so can support a big flowing head.

looks like it won't work. The cathedral port is taller than the rectangle ports of the L76.

Seemed like a crazy idea anyway.

There you go! The L76 only fits the L92 and LS3 heads. It works fairly well on 6.0 builds but is very limiting on 4 inch bores and larger. It just runs out too early. Don't ask me how I know.

That's good to know. The L-92 head is so cheap, I really thought about going to a 6.0 liter just to take advantage of price of that head.

I even thought about notching the bore to accomodate the L-92 head, but because of the valve angle so steep I was afraid it would cut into a ring area of the bore. Not to mention you crowd the area around the valve so it might inhibit flow anyway.

What the heck, you gotta keep trying. Making horsepower cheap is like getting into a womans pants. You not going to get there if you don't try.

I built the first L92 stroker in the country almost 3 years ago. At the time, people said it wouldn't work. It's still running strong making an honest 521/480. It makes 400RWT at 2500RPM!

Where does the L76 manifold run out breath (in terms of rpm)?
