This is one i need help with. My fuel gauge shows 1/2 tank and on the DIC it says 186 miles, but 10 miles later i run out of fuel. I put $20.00 in the tank just to get home, the fuel gauge goes to the full line, the DIC says 277 miles. The next day i drive, with the top down enjoyng the Florida sun. Fuel gauge shows 1/2 full DIC shows 177 miles. Stop at red light check gauge light comes on, fuel gauge goes to empty mark, gives out of fuel again.I've tried techron fuel system cleaner and no luck. Anyone has any solution

My gas gage acted up in the same manner just once or twice when the car was new; '01 Z. Once I began to use Chevron premium exclusively and add Sta-Bil fuel stablizer when stored during the winter months, I've never had the "dreaded" gas gage problem again. Maybe its just the gage, maybe the gas or the stablizer, I don't know but my gage has worked perfectly since those first few times, about 7 years now. I've never added any chemical additives of any kind other than the stablizer when stored. I feel bad for all you guys who have to put up with this problem but don't know what the solution is. You might try the Sta-Bil to see if it does anything, it doesn't cost much and it might help!
