Look at the tie-rod end bolts and make sure they are tight. While you're at it, put a wrench on everything you can under there. Anti-sway bars too

Have checked the anti-sway bars and they are ok - when their bushings go they "squeak". This is a clunking sound not a squeak.

I was thinking more along the connections to everything else for them rather than the bushings. I found a tie-rod end just barely lose on my '99 once and it would cause a pop/clunk whatever sound but only when going in/out of a parking lot at an angle. The bolt was just a hair lose which when tightened, solved the noise.

Check exhaust system clearances too. If the front support broke you could get the lower frequency thud noise.

Keep us posted on what you find.
