Default 98' TPMS question

I have seen the threads about making tpms work with 02' wheels on 00' model. I found a pretty good deal on a set of wheels and tires from an
'02 model. Is there any way to get the sensors to work on my '98?
Thanks,
Greg

The 02 sensors will not work on your 98 but you can put your 98 sensors on the 02 wheels with no problem.

Yes, you can make them work. You need to replace your receiver with the late model (01-04) receiver and get new key fobs as well. You can get all the parts from Gene at gmpartshouse.com

YEP!! 100% correct! The newer FOBs and sensore are a lot less money than the early sensors and Fobs

So, if I am buying a set of 02' wheels that already have the sensors, I could possibly purchase the fob from the same vehicle (parting out), then I would only have to purchase the receiver and connector or would I need new fobs?
Thanks for the replies!

If the vehicle is being parted out, why not buy the receiver, too?

Funny you should mention that. I got him to throw in the receiver and a fob along with the wheels. Now I need the wiring connector.
