Default passenger window problemsn down and partial up

Ive been reading over all i can find regarding window related issues.
Nothing ive read seems to match up quite right with what im finding.

yesterday i rolled the window down .. no problems.
(was driving so wasnt paying lots of attention)
Started rolling it back up and i thought i heard a grinding .. stopped and looked over and went to roll it up ... and it went up all the way fine.

I rolled it up and down 4 -5 times after that just to check .. no issues
I got home stilla bit paranoid so i check it without the car running .. no problems.

On the way into work this morning windows went down fine ... got to the office .. started to roll it up .. it got about 75% of the way and just stops.
Acts almost like it thinks its completely up.

I rolled it down and up quite a bit ... no grinding .. no odd noises .. it just acts like it all the way up .. Havent taken the panel off so i cant really tell if its binding somwhere. I was able to gently pull the window up gently but it took a bit of force to do so...
Still no grinding or odd noises. Its also feels like its rolled up after (stays in place doesn fall or wobble like its a broke track)

Roll the window down .. start back up .. almost the same spot .. it stops. The motor while running still has a TON of force while pushing up the window it really doesnt feel week .. doesnt seem slow either ...

Im wondering if replacing the battery could have cause a index problem on it ... or does the C5 have even use the up/down indexes like some other cars?

suggestions or ideas on a quick fix .. or what to look for when i pull the panel apart later this evening?

Any suggestions from past experience with others?

Based on what your saying it sounds as though it may have lost it's mind.

The service manual discusses two adjustment procedures:

"Minor height adjustment, +/- 3mm"

"Major height adjusment"

Sounds like the latter is your procedure and it's simple if you look at 8-995 in the FSM.

Hth,

Jim

found the problem
Theres a small blue plastic guide at the front lower cable assembly.
It guides the wire up and around the 90 degree turn for the front of the window ... its broke.

Everything else is fine ...

Anyone have an idea where you might be able to get those or a part# from GM?

Ill ahve to try and dig out my parts guide and see if i can find something listed.

Check with Gene at gmpartshouse.com

He's a great guy and sells stuff reasonably and ships quick.

It's a shame, you have to buy the whole regulator to get a small plastic part.

yah i cant see 3-400 for that dang part.

I found the old blue part that hit the ground.
Had 1 of the 3 legs broke off of it...

small hole in the middle .. one machine screw .. 2 washers and a nut later

*and god awful amoung of dang blasted time getting the pull wires rewound and tight in the motor*

and i think it might work at least well as GM version

ill be on the lookout for a wrecked C5 that might even have been hit in the doors and parting it out.

There is a company that will rebuild the window regulators for $100 and they have had the nylon pieces manufactured for the rebuilds.
If you want to check them out go to RegulatorUSA.com

http://regulatorusa.com/product_deta...41&product=122

They also sell rebuilt units on eBay.
If your motor is still good, you could buy the cheapest unit you could find on eBay and rob the parts off it.
