Default a/c clutch replacement

does anyone know if the a/c clutch can be replaced without removing the compressor from the car? my a/c clutch is shot to the point of burning the belt. dont really want to drop the headers to remove the a/c compressor to have it repaired or replaced. looking for ideas before i pull it.
