I am getting a, for no better word, grinnding sound, when i try and shift hard into 4th.
A little more info. It is not a grinding sound from the tranny. It is just the sound from the shifter, or linkage?
I know how to adjust the shifter, as it works well in all gears. Even 4th if done in a normal shift. The sound comes if I try and shift fast and hard! Even at low RPM's.
To me it seems it must be in the linkage, but further down the line than the shifter, and its adjustment?
Sorry, don't have an answer, but there's not much to the linkage. Just runs back to the tranny where it is held in place with a drift pin (IIRC) where it connects to the tranny.
