Question on LS1 starter current draw
I'm attempting to go to a solenoid for a battery disconnect. I am wanting information on the amperage draw of a factory starter on the LS1 motors.

I could measure mine but you'll have to wait until tomorrow... If I had to guess I'd go for about 200-250 amps.. It depends on how hard the engine cranks, condition of the starter and the status of the battery..

I agree! It all depends on how hard the starter has to work to crank the engine! If you see -10 degree winter temps,,,I bet you will see 400-500+ AMPS brief. In the summer,,,200-250.
