Two Orange, 1 brown and 1 black. One know the real story of what they are?
1 Orange looks like +12 constant.
The other orange looks like it's +12 with the door open (dome light circuit?)
The black and brown are (-) all the time from what I can tell.
Does anyone have the real story? I have the service manuals but I lost my decoder ring. I am trying to setup an aftermarket rear view mirror.
For my '02 WITH electrochromatic mirror, Pin 1 brown is in fact for the orange flood LED. It's hot when the ignition is in the on position. Pin 6 /7 orange is for the two dome lights. 6 is hot all the time to the dome light switches, 7 is controlled by the BCM...when you open the door, or unlock the car, it goes hot. Pin 2 black is ground for the entire mirror.
Thanks but I have a service manual with this exact picture. I was looking at it but I don't know how to read it.
Is the BRN a - or +? Is the ORG +12 switched? How does one tell from this picture?
From my tester the BRN and BLK are (-) all the time (makes no sense to me). One ORG is constant, the other is +12 when the dome lights are on. My mirror wants (-) when the dome light is on so I guess I have to wire up a relay.

I retrofitted an Auto Dimmer in my 99 which had the base mirror. Fun stuff!

Thanks, I figgered that's the case.
I was recently going to try and use one of those circuits for my V1 and finally decided to hard wire the power source down to the foot well fuse panel instead. Since I ALWAYS disconnect and store my V1 EVERY time I park overnight, etc. I came up with a way to make a "patch cord" to connect into my V1 since the lock tab on those damn plastic RJ11 connector ends always eventually break off. Ever try to find a female RJ11 panel socket that's small? It ain't easy let me tell you.
According to this website http://www.invisicord.com/docs/quickconnect.pdf i need to plug in to the Brown and 2nd orange. my car is a '00 with out autodim so should i plug in to 1st Orange and black?
