Default Rotors and brakes

Well it is about that time do change out my brakes and rotors. It is just for street use and would like the drilled rotors. I was wondering what people are running and where I could order them from. Looking for the whole package. I remember a lot of people going with the brake pads from napa but not 100 percent sure. Thanks for all the help guys! It is for a 03 z06

I myself dont use drilled rotors as they are known to crack. If anything a set of slotted rotors would be a better option as the gases that come off the rotors wont get trappped and will vent.

Just my 02. I bought my rotors from Surestop.

There is no need to replace your rotors unless they are below the minimum allowable thickness.

Try brakeperformance.com for rotors and HAWK HPS for pads. If you are getting rotors get zinc plated.

Go to NAPA!!! They have a couple of performance options! There rotors are very good and I have them on my ZO6. Very happy wih them!! If you are a vetern or AAA member,,,you get a good discount!!

Call Gene Culley and get the GM performance ceramic pads. www.gmparthouse.com

You will save a lot of cash and significantly improve your brakes!

Unless you are tracking your car or autocrossing, the d/s should be fine, plus they look much better, depending on your wheels. I got my pads from Autozone, ceramic. They do the job, but I would not want to make for than 4 ABS stops in any short period of time.

I ran stock C5 pads, too dusty. I then ran GM Ceramic pads, very little white dust but they didn't stop well (had to push hard on brake pedal) and they warped my rotors. Now using HAWK HPS pads, little dust and GREAT stopping (better than ZO6 pads).

Take a look at this pad for the street

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

I just installed Baer Decelarotor Rotors with Hawk HPS pads. Didn't want the 2 piece because of cost and I only do street driving.

Hawk HPS pads are great, stay away from the metalic racing pads, they squeal for street use, they need fast heavy stops before they quite down. You should have good results with Drilled/Slotted rotors of good quality brand name. Good luck...

I've been running the dimpled & slotted for about two years with no problems. I did not like the from them (a set comes free). I went to NAPA for the pads
