14.7 to 1 is stoichiometric for gasoline engines. This provides the most complete burn of fuel. However, this AFR is only adequate for partial throttle and idle conditions. WOT conditions require a richer mixture... somewhere between 12.8-13.4 is acceptable. You typically don't see much of a performance gain on either end of that range, so 13.1 to 1 is safe.
