I have removed the EBCM from my 2002 after doing all the tests to determine my problem is the relay inside. I know a few of you have fought your way in, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. Is there a trick I'm missing? I have never had something I could not get apart, but this is kickin' my butt. The price of a new one is looking better all the time.
Do any of you know whether Chevrolet has improved the electronics on the C6's? After a lot of research on this site and others, it looks like electronics problems are endemic to the C5's.
The module is potted with RTV sealant. Your best bet is to apply even and continious pressure all the way around the module and eventually it will pop up. Here is what you will see when you get it apart:
