Default BBK vs LS6 Intake

Can anyone tell me which intake is better for my 99 Vette... the LS6 or a BBK SSI series (LS1 LS6) intake. Both are used and appear in, like new condition. It looks like the BBK may end up costing $100 or more, than the LS6. If the BBK is better, is it worth the extra money.

BBK makes great products. However, you can not go wrong with an LS6 intake. It is one of the best intakes ever designed by GM. You will be pleased with the performance you get from it.

You can find slightly used LS6 intakes in the classifieds forums here and on other forums for about $300 or so all the time. You can't go wrong with the LS6 for the money. I'm not a big fan of the BBK.

I have polished Weiand/Lingenfelter intake because of my overall engine... otherwise I would have kept the LS6. The Weiand does have more torque compared to the factory oem... No dyno sheets, just perception.

Not sure how the BBK is made internally, I think it's one ugly intake on the outside, I'd never buy one.

only reason i ran a aluminum intake was due to having burst panels for nitrous. it was a weiand that i had port matched and opened up to accept 85mm tb. that being said an ls6 would be just fine and if its cheaper there is your answer. btw several test were done as far as heat soak.... i wont give my opinion

Lucky, you do realize that this forum gets new members everyday. I think you've been around so long that you know all the answers to the questions that the new guys have. So instead of being sarcastic, just move on and let someone else answer.
