Trimming Exhaust Gaskets??
I had a guy tell me that I could pick up considerably more horse power on my 2002 LS-1 by removing the exhaust gaskets and trimming them to fit the acutal size of the exhaust prots off of the heads. Apparrently, according to him the gaskets are purposly larger then the head ports in order to meet emissions standards, etc.
Can any one verify if any of this is true? Sounds to easy to be real!

port matching of gaskets can increase some hp on old sbcs..but not worth the time on the gen 3 motors. You cant port match anything for the intake so your talking about the exhaust and i really don't think there is much to trim there to start with...
