I want to make a cold air intake for my 00' C5 and I was wondering if the location of the MAF makes any difference. I know it sounds like a dumb question but I'm a long time deisel guy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's been said by many tuners that locating the MAF closer to the TB gives better reads and reduces the likelyhood of your CAI throwing a lean code.
I did a home made system and relocated my MAF, the thread link is below if you want to look at what I did. I'm very happy with mine, runs great and no codes at all!
Thanks for all the info, I will post pics when it's done. It's currently on jack stands in the garage due to a incounter with a curb (broken knuckle, cracked rim) thanks to an idiot with a hemi challenger that couldn't control his ride. Parts are on order, thanks to Craiglist I saved $600 for a rim versus Dealership!
