Problem: Service Engine Soon + ABS Light + Traction Control Light
On the way home from work today, the Service Engine Soon message appeared, along with the ABS Light and Traction Control. This happened about 1.5 mi from home. Got home, parked in the garage, turned car off, turned it back on, and nothing. I drove the car to work today, and it has been about a week since I last drove the car. Has anyone had this happen to them and/or know what this means? I looked in the manual, but didn't see anything.
Thanks.

The technician may find chassis DTC C1288 -- Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES) Steering Wheel Sensor Phase A and B. When this code is set, the VSES is turned off; ABS and TCS remain operational.

I too had this happen to me about 3 months ago. It has not come back since. I had put her in COMP mode a couple of times riding around before this happened. Once I got home, cleared error code...dont remember which one it was..I wrote it down, but it's at the house, as I am at work now. Anyways, problem has not shown back up again. I thought it might of had to do something with toggling COMP mode on/off...Did you toggle between performance modes before your error light came on???
Re: Problem: Service Engine Soon + ABS Light + Traction Control Light (lioninavette)
Hi All,
I was getting the same thing. I disconnected the harnesses for the wheel sensors (located in back of the front wheels) and applied some dilectric grease to the plugs. I haven't had a problem since.
Same thing happened with my fuel injectors. Seems the plugs can get a little dirty and/or galvanized.
