2003 Coupe QS M6 Canadian car. No mods. All original. 31,000 km and still beautiful.
This happened on both of my doors at two separate times. It is the door control module. Some people have repaired them by changing relays inside the module. I was fortunate that I had warranty coverage both times. Very easy to access the modules in the doors.
Did the repair yesterday. Removed door module, desoldered the offending relays. Purchased quality relays, made in USA. Cost $6. Could have purchased Asian relays for 1.77cd but did not want the same thing happening again in a few yrs.(or less). The USA relay was heavier than the Thialand made unit. That tells you something. Fact of the matter, GM puts the cheapest parts that they can get without concern for the consumers satisfaction. Still charge a lot of $$$ for the car. If they don't change their attitude they will be in trouble again. High end cars should have high end parts. I expect that, but also expect low end cars to have low end parts.

Not that I'm anti-American at all. I'm all for buying "USA" products. But thinking that American products are superior to all Asian products is a pretty hefty stereo-type. Wonder where the internals for that relay came from? Possibly all USA produced, but possibly not.
I bet you wouldn't take an American Plasma screen over your Panasonic, or Sony. =P Asian markets produce the finest electronics in the world, and also the worst.
Glad you got your problem fixed. My wiring messed up a while back and I wasn't locking the passenger door either, until my GF opened it and set the alarm off I had no idea it wasn't locking.
I have had a door module also fail. Just wondering do you have any details of the repair you made or type of relay and how you installed it. Thank you ... vettdvr
