ok i deployed for a few months. during that time my cars lovely redtop optima crap died several times. wife said it would roughly last a week without a problem. Then after that it would die. well the problem is that when i go to start the car with the remote, you can hear the fuel pump and the inside lights turn on, but it just wont crank over. the remote also likes to unlock the car randomly. i have reset the system the way that the scosche manual says with no luck. also no one else has been any help at the place that i installed it at

I wanted a remote starter and had contacted several well know shop in my area, Philadelphia-South N.J.-Harrisburg about install of a remote starter in a C5 and all determined that the electronics in the corvette are not a match and only if I would release them from any after install responsiblity would they attempt to install a remote starter. I did not procede. It, remote starter, has troubles if you can not tie directly to a vehicles electricial system and I was told that it is not possible with a C5. I would be going back to your installer with the questions and determine how they tied into the system. Some installer's might just take a shot at the work and not be 100% certain of the system tie in.

Reason: update
I have a clifford remote starter on my car without any electrical issues for the last 5 years(knock on wood). When I did have an issue with it it turned out to be a broken hood pin switch. My symptoms were the same...she would try to crank but sounded like it just wouldnt turn all the way over. Turned out the hood pin had broken off causing the circuit to remain open making the remote starter think my hood was open therefore no start.

Do you know how to read a schematic and use a DMM?
The problem could be your battery. Red tops are not good batteries for a car that is not driven daily. They can prematurely fail if they are fully discharged just a few times.
My car is a garage queen that is stored for 6 or 7 winter months and then only driven a couple times a month in the summer. I bought the car new, in the winter and drove it home and put it in storage. In the spring when I went to get the car out the battery was dead, and wouldn't take a charge. So I bought an Optima red top and a battery tender.
A red top will go completely dead if not started in my car in about a month. Even though I bought a battery tender occasionally I didn't use it in the summer (thinking that I was going to use the car in a few days and then going about a month). I got a little over the 3 years that the battery is warrantied out of it but that was all, but I have since learned that they don't do well in these car if not a DD (not necessarily a dig on Optima batteries, but AGM batteries in general) so I bought a high quality conventional battery and my car is much better off.

Battery experience is the same. If you have a full discharge the Red Top could be toast. I bought my at Sam's and they full warrant the battery for three years as a exchange for new. The battery is a premium cost because AGM batteries generally cost more, but I am Tied to the Red Top till I am out of warranty and it fails.
not a fan of schematics but i can use them. ill look at the hood pin to see if that could be the issue.
Well, if you can read the schematic for the remote start inputs that are required to enable starting, you can go down the list and see what's good and what's not.
