Default tire dummy

I currently have a 1999 with 245/45/R17 on front and 285/35/zr18 on the back that needs new tires...should I just replace them with the same sizes or something different..anyone have any suggestions?

285mm is a bit wide, not too much, but a bit wide for the 9.5 in factory wheels. I'd go back with the 275mm factory size tire. You will have a more true contact patch with the pavement. Oversize fitments can be compensated for somewhat by lowering air pressure, but now you sacrifice handling and fuel economy. Hope this helps.

With stock rims some have gone a little bigger but you are probably better to stay with stock sizes. Plus you get a ton of options for those sizes. Those of us who went with a 18x10 & 19x11 rim over the stock 17x8.5 & 18x9.5 have far fewer (and more expensive!) options.
