Default Rotor/brake pad question

I am going to be changing rotors and painting caliphers on my 2002 corvette vert. 6 speed. any suggestions for slotted/drilled rotors and type of pads to use and who has the best deal? this is a street driven, not hard driven nice weather only car. any forum vendors with good experience would be my first choice. this is a great benefit for corvette people and would like to support those who support our addiction.

brakeperformance.com has decent rotors, be sure to get zinc plated.

I STRONGLY recommend HAWK HPS pads, they dust little and stop GREAT, better than ZO6 pads. I had stock C5 pads (dust too much) and GM Ceramics (dust very little white dust but stop bad and they warped my rotors), HAWK HPS are fantastic, you barely touch the brakes to start stopping.

with drilled and slotted rotors the HPS brake pads will dust A LOT.
think about it, holes scrapping the brake pad = dust

I changed mine 2 yrs ago to GMPP drilled/slotted rotors and GMPP Ceramic pads, no brake dust at all, and they stop great, onmce they're warmed up - they do take a little more pedal pressure the first application or so, but I've beat on it pretty hard a few times and no fade....

For a great pad for the street please take a look at the carbotech bobcat 1521.

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.
