I just had a Yank 3000 installed, and I'm having idle problems with the A/C on (though I didn't have that before). If I turn the A/C off, no problems whatsoever.
I've also noticed the DIC display "Brake Before Shifting" while driving, which seems kind of odd.
Re: Torque Converter Post Install Questions (pmarone)
"Brake before shifting" is normal. It is a built in safety feature so the car wont get away from you when the veh. is put in gear.I don't know anything about the other problems.Need another persons expertise on those matters. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy (STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER)
Re: Torque Converter Post Install Questions (Speed-Racer)
He mentioned - while driving the message appears.
I wonder if something was not connected back to the tranny?
I also have the yank3000 and never any issues.
That's what I'm thinking. It's acting like a sensor or something wasn't hooked back up right. I can't open my hatch with the car in park, either - I have to remove the key before it will let me.
Re: Torque Converter Post Install Questions (wallstAL)
The car feels tight - like it's all wound up and ready to go - kind of like what I'd expect to feel in an F-14 with the catapult in tension. I haven't played with it much yet, but I'll do that shortly :)
Re: Torque Converter Post Install Questions (pmarone)
I just pulled my DTCs, and found a current DTC of P0705 - Trans Range Switch Circuit. Looks like something got pulled out and/or not plugged back in. Should be a relatively easy fix - if I can find out what that something is ;) I'm figuring it's close to the Trans Range Switch, but I cannot figure out where that should be, even after paging through the service manual.
Re: Torque Converter Post Install Questions (ROD BROWN)
check the plug at the shift shaft sensor. The sensoo-switch can be loosened and rotated to adjust- its in the manual. Mine wouldnt unplug and appeared to be glued togather. A new selector sw is under $20 from the dealer.

They use a kind of sealer on that connection to keep it out of weathers way.It will come off if you use a heat gun to loosen it up.
Re: Torque Converter Post Install Questions (Buckmaster)
Yank 3000 here and no problems. Did you do have any PCM programming done? Just curious because if the TC is very tight it could be a programming issue. The PCM can be programmed to lock the TC up at a certain speed, it can change the line pressure to keep the shifts firm and quick, etc. Good luck :)
I have the Powerloader II, which was plugged in before the TC. I thought about this too, but I thought I recalled people saying that the the PCM didn't have to be reprogrammed for the TC.
Maybe I'll need to call Steve Cole too. Does anyone have contact info for him?
Re: Torque Converter Post Install Questions (pmarone)
Ok...thanks to Steve Cole, we found the problem with the stalling - looks as if the installers popped part of the airbridge off slightly, and I guess under moderate to hard breaking, it would lean the engine forward, opening the gap wider, and causing the engine to stall. We popped it back on, and all is well.
Unfortunately, we did discover that my engine is running WAY lean, so I've got some work to do there. Steve gave me some great tips to figure this one out, too.
Re: Torque Converter Post Install Questions (wallstAL)
That's the P0705 problem - in my opinion, the fault of Corvette Mike's install. I'm going to call them today and discuss this with them - I really don't intend to drive all the way up there and leave my car again.
Looks like I fixed the lean condition also (put the stock maf ends back in).
