Ok, heres the deal. I have an '02 ZO6 that just quit while coming home from work (check previous post for more details) and since losing my job I don't have the cash to just get a correct diagnosis on what the problem may be. The engine code reads as "engine misfire". My understanding is that a good code scanner can detail this even further and will give me a better idea of what the problem is. I have never had to ask for help from anyone in the past, but my economic situation forces this request.
If anyone locally (Orlando,FL) has a scanner that could help me narrow down the problem and would be willing to help me figure this out, (I'm not asking anyone to actually FIX the car, just looking for what the problem may be) it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks for reading this thread.

It's not uncommon for C5 Z06, even with relatively low miles.
What you described in your June post sounds just like what I witnessed happen on a modified C4. Engine ran rough at highway speed, warning lightscame on, and engine died as he pulled off to the side. It would just barely run with pumping the gas pedal. We had it flat bedded to the nearest Chevy dealer and had a new spring put in. Two hours later he was on track again.

Sounds EXACTLY how mine is acting!! I CAN make it run, but have to really pump the gas! Sounds like you got it! Thanks so much!!

Please be a little more descriptive on the symptoms of the engine dieing>>>
If you had a broken valve spring,,,,,,you would most likely have other DTCs depending on how bad the miss was.
Have you checked for ALL the posted DTCs using the DIC internal diagnostic routine?????
Yep, Checked the DIC and all it gave was for the engine misfire. I would think it would run though with a valve spring broken. I have to "pump" the gas repeatedly just to keep it running. Having been a jet engine mechanic for 21 years, I would think this wouldn't be so baffling for me.
Thanks!

Pop off the valve covers and check your valve springs. Also could be a fuel pressure problem.
