[QUOTE=Blue 92;1571075823]Break the above into paragraphs and you're good to go.
Basically an internal combustion engine is a pump that converts incoming air and fuel into energy and exhaust.
Without actually digging into the engine internals any change that improves the flow in and out, within the range of what the stock engine can handle, will be the best bang for the buck.
So a CAI and catback is a good place to start. A better flowing throttle body and MAF will also help.
At that point you should go for a dyno tune to make the most of the changes.[/QUOTE
Thanks for your help. You sound like you know of what you speak. I don't, but ridicule (not by you) is uncalled for, and is a senseless preoccupation of which I,ve no patients. Lynn Johnson

Did I tell you: My '99 has headers cats W/ low volume converters, and a Corsa exhaust. That, of course is on the exhaust side of the motor. All the rest will be applied to the intake side. Thanks, Lynn johnson

So, Lynn, I take it that you're an unemployed doctor?

Oh my poor old head is pounding!
Lynn, I'll give you credit for still trying to grab a gear.
When the roads get slippery and visibility is reduced to zero, it's wise to simply pull over.
p.s. When you want to go to a place that's in front of you... gettin' her out of reverse is good.

Careful Berwerk: I've read your postings, and your butt is also hanging out there. Way out there!

I have to disagree with you when it comes to swapping out the MAF. There is no Gain to be had there unless it is leaning out your system, but that is not recommended right?
You see the MAF runs in tandem with your fuel injectors, meaning that when you change one you must calibrate it with its counterpart. So If I have 30lb injectors that are calibrated to run with my 90mm MAF,, then I upgrade to a 100mm MAF I just jacked up my air fuel ratio this will definetly run havoc with my ECM. In turn will not make my car run as good as it just was.
Now if after a H/C/I/E/TB/pulley bolt on and I thouht for some reason I was maxxing either my MAF or my Fuel injetors, thats a good time to purchase a callobrated set (MAF,INJ) or to mix and match then callibrate.... Does this make sense?
Add little parts get little power add big parts get big power. Unless we are including N20 (best bang for the buck any day) It is just a bit inconvienant when you need to keep refilling your bottle, worth it when you are hanging with that C6 Z06 to the next light though,,,lol.

I've never been employed nor unemployed! Patients, used here, doesn't refer to sick people. It refers to my inability to put up with sick people somewhat like yourself. I can tell by your post that you have more problems than just being a mental miscreant. Go work on them and you'll see that the world is a great place and you don't have to prove to others that you come very close to not making it on this planet with any degree of success. Lynn Johnson

Hey Lynn, certainly no offence was intended, and my apologies go to you if my post was so interpreted.
I would never engage in malicious nor mean spirited behaviour. I believe none of the posts came anywhere's near falling into that category.
This 'stuff' is all in the spirit of light hearted humour.
We did have some damned good laughs!
This forum is a wonderful place with many first class people. There is so much that can be learned here, and I'm sure that your 'deal' is going to work out for you.
What was it that you were trying to do again? JUST KIDDING!!!

That was a very heartening reply, and I'm sure you meant it. However I think I've worn out my welcome here and I'll get off my rant for more civility and less cruelty. I'm sure that the majority of the members on this site, are my kind of people. However, since it is not a secrete society of like minded friends, you have to accept everyone for what they are or aren't. But, I'm thinking "Who needs it?". Again, thank you for your show of kindness. Lynn Johnson
