Analyze My Dyno
With these mods: 405hp LS6 Crate Engine, RPM Lvl 4 Auto Tranny, RPM 2800 stall, LG Pro Longtubes, High Flow Cats, 25% UnderDrive Pulley, B&B Bullets, Callaway Honker, and a tune.
Do these numbers look right?
Do you see any problems with, or indicated by, this chart?
Anything in this graph indicate wheelspin/slippage on the rollers?
I saw a 2003 LS1 powered C5 Coupe with Corsa catback an a Blackwing CAI do 336rwhp about 20 min before mine.
Thanks for your time!
was the other car a 6 sp? your numbers look about right for a auto car to me.... you lose a lot of dyno # power through a stalled auto... i bet you'd smoke the other car though
I think its a little low and your going through a auto. autos will not put down the same numbers if yours was a 6 spd. Kinda like the auto robs the power. it looks like its having some problems there in the beginning, it should be a smooth curve through out the rpms.
Calculates to about 423 HP at the crank seems you picked up 18 over stock or there abouts. Looks like there was some slipage at the shift point. The grapho does not have the entire range from fiirst gear through third. I had my auto dynoed and at each of the shifts went off the chart, inertia from the engine at high revs. Like an earlier poster noted, the Air Fuel ratio was not noted.
I did notice the shop temps were near 100F, and relatively dry conditions(?). (Houston area I assume). It would get a few more on a cooler day. I would not worry about the numbers at this point. You really don't know where your stock engine dyno would be under similar conditions (or do you?). so you don't know the delta absolutely you can just assume 405 at crank.
Something is slipping at first! I had a clutch that was slipping on the dyno, and it looked like that. Yours looked like it took a bigger dive(slip) than mine did. You re probably losing some hp with that slip.

I believe your numbers are low, even with the A4 and the stall, however, you will see a positive effect from the Honker when the car is moving. There is a one very strange thing, though, in your dyno chart. Dyno runs usually vary a few hp and ft.lbs from run to run. You underwent a 40 ft.lb change in torque on your two runs. Was the converter locked on both runs? An unlocked converter will show a 20-30 hp lower reading than a locked one. Makes me wonder what may be going on. Talk to your tuner, or have the dyno redone by him. Your numbers, which will be your new baseline for any future mods, may be in error.

First off, thanks to you guys for taking the time to analyze my chart. This was a dyno day pull, not your typical dyno tune chart. The non-locked converter may be the culprit. The converter was not forced to stay locked so when he went WOT the converter unlocked.

I thought that may have been the problem. The tuner must force the converter to stay locked during a dyno run. If you re -dyno, let us know what you come in at.
